Adventurous Saturday!

Happy Saturday Everyone :-)

I am a little behind in writing this post, but I have been so busy between my last week at work and my fiancee ending up in the hospital with a leg injury I barely had time for myself.

Last weekend during the Irish "heatwave" we went to Powerscourt Gardens & Estate. Warren has never been there before so for me it was the perfect excuse to go again. I love day trips, especially to such beautiful place like Powerscourt. For those of you, who haven't been there, the gardens are divided into 7 points of "interest" and it's a lovely day out. Below you can see a glimpse of what's out there.

We got there around 2pm, as Warren had a football match i the morning and safe to say the place was absolutely packed! There were tour busses and tourists everywhere. It was hard to find a parking space, no wonder as everyone wanted to make the most of such a beautiful day.

I have opted for a pink tulle skirt from Cari's Closet, Grey T-Shirt from Stradivarius and my white Adidas Trainers. (Click on each shop name to get the product or similar option).

The entrance costs €9.50 per adult. In the main building there is a little cafe where you can sit outside, people watch and enjoy some light lunch. For those who support Irish businesses there are couple of little shops where you can purchase shabby chic home ware goods as well as a large garden shop.

The great thing is that if you notice a plant you like in the gardens, you will be able to purchase the seeds in the garden shop and plant it in your own back garden! Each plant in the gardens has a name displayed.

Once we finished our walk in the Gardens we decided to head over to the waterfall. Note, the waterfall is not on the same premises, it is approximately 5 minutes drive and the entrance costs €6 per adult.

The place was full of families who decided to make a day out of it, by bringing BBQ and picnic and enjoy the sunshine for the day. I was raging that we didn't think of doing that ourselves as it looked incredible, and the disposable BBQ trays are only €6 in Lidl's! The atmosphere at the waterfall was completely different than the one at the gardens. Here, you found relaxed parents, loud children and young couples listening to music.

It was impossible to find a spot and it really made us feel like we were on holidays. Kids were swimming in the waterfall and playing water-sports in the river. incredible! I have never seen anything like it in Ireland nor have I stepped my foot in any Irish waters be that sea or a river. Safe to say it was one of the nicest days i had in Ireland and really made me look at this country in a different way. Also, people's attitude is completely different when the weather is nice.

When we got home we were worn out by the sun and opted for Chinese (don't judge us haha!).

What did you do last weekend? I loved all your snaps and Instagram pics and sorry if I didn't get back to anyone as the signal out there wasn't great.

Lots of Love,

Joanna
